About The Position

We’re hiring a Press Brake Operator with basic experience. You don’t need years of experience—just familiarity with a press brake and a willingness to learn more. We’ll train you on the rest. Cleaveland/Price specializes in the design and manufacture of high voltage disconnect switches and switch automation products. The products that we offer are unique in design, and some include patented features. Products have been developed and tested in accordance with IEEE, ANSI, and NEMA standards for high voltage equipment. They are primarily used by investor-owned and public electric utilities and large industrial operations in substation, distribution, transmission, and generation applications. All company operations take place in a modern 218,300 sq. ft. multi-site facility situated on 20 acres east of Trafford, PA. The facility houses virtually all resources for product realization, including engineering, supply chain, parts fabrication, electro-mechanical assembly, and testing. Fabrication capabilities include laser and plasma cutting, CNC machining, CNC punching, and automated bending and forming. The company also utilizes specialized processes, such as MIG and TIG welding, friction welding, silver and tin electroplating, and silver brazing. Responsible for the fabrication of various metal parts through various processes and methods including bending, forming, punching, or other operations. The Press Brake Operator is an integral part of the manufacturing team at Cleaveland/Price. The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise in precision metal bending, possess strong technical skills, and prioritize safety and quality in all aspects of the role.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Some experience using a press brake (basic familiarity is enough)
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to read blueprints preferred
  • Willingness to learn and grow
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and job orders.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
  • Basic math and measurement skills, including reading calipers and tape measures.
  • Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with shop tools and machinery.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Proficiency with basic computer applications for accessing drawings and work instructions.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior press brake or metal fabrication experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, program, and operate press brake machines to bend and form sheet metal components according to drawings, blueprints, and work orders.
  • Select the appropriate tooling, dies, and machine settings for each job to ensure quality and accuracy.
  • Adjust machine controls, back gauges, and material stops to achieve specified angles and dimensions.
  • Inspect parts during and after production to verify compliance with tolerances and specifications.
  • Identify and resolve basic fabrication or tooling issues to maintain production flow.
  • Coordinate with team members and supervisors to ensure timely completion of jobs.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and report equipment concerns to maintenance staff.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with OSHA and ISO standards.
  • Follow all company safety rules, procedures, and quality standards.
  • Perform related duties as assigned, including cross-training on other fabrication equipment.
