About The Position

The Press Brake Operator is responsible for operating, and maintaining press brake machines to bend and form metal components according to specifications. This role requires a strong understanding of metal fabrication processes, attention to detail, and a commitment to producing high-quality products while adhering to safety standards.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.
1-3 years of experience as a press brake operator or in a similar metal fabrication role.
Familiarity with operating press brake machines and understanding of metal bending processes.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise specifications.
Good mathematical skills and ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
Excellent problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.
Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to [weight limit, typically 25-50 pounds].
Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

Nice To Haves

Technical or vocational training in metal fabrication, machining, or a related field is preferred.
Experience with press brakes and advanced bending techniques.
Knowledge of quality control procedures and inspection techniques.
Forklift certification or experience with material handling equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities

Operate press brake machines to bend and form metal sheets and components as per engineering specifications.
Select appropriate tooling and setup parameters for various forming operations.
Monitor machine operations during production to ensure quality and efficiency.
Conduct inspections of parts to verify they meet specified dimensions and tolerances.
Use measuring instruments such as calipers, tape measures, and protractors to check dimensions.
Document inspection results and report any deviations or quality issues to the supervisor, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
Perform routine maintenance on press brake machines, including cleaning, lubrication, and tool changes.
Follow all safety protocols and guidelines while operating machinery
Identify and report any equipment malfunctions, maintenance needs, or safety hazards to the supervisor immediately.
Maintain accurate records of production runs, including quantities produced, machine settings, and any issues encountered.
Complete necessary paperwork related to production, quality control, and machine maintenance.
Work closely with other operators, production staff, and supervisors to achieve production goals.
Assist in training new operators on press brake operation, safety procedures, and quality standards.
Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for process improvements and efficiencies.
