About The Position

OSW Equipment & Repair, LLC, a subsidiary of Federal Signal Corporation, is the largest truck body and trailer manufacturer in the Pacific Northwest. OSW’s main facility is located in the Maltby area in Snohomish County. OSW and has been in business for over 20 years and is also located in Tempe, Arizona. As a Press Brake Operator on our growing team, you are contributing to the success of the company by safely and efficiently controlling the Press Brake machine along with other various types of machines and equipment involved in production. Requirements

  • Excellent time management skills
  • Understands precision sheet metal requirements.
  • Ability to safely operate the Press Brake Machine.
  • Ability to follow directions and work well in a team.
  • Ability to interpret and translate engineering designs and documentation.
  • Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production equipment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to lay out parts by hand with an understanding of bend allowances utilizing both inside and outside dimensions.
  • Understanding of and the ability to abide by applicable OSHA and environmental regulations.
  • High school graduate (preferred)
  • 2-5 years of brake press experience required
  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking through the factory.
  • Able to lift up to 60 pounds at times without assistance.
  • Bending, twisting, lifting, kneeling crouching, stooping/crawling standing, walking a minimum of 50% of the time
  • Visual acuity to inspect products and machinery.

Responsibilities

  • Operates p ress brakes to fabricate sheet metal in accordance with prints and specifications.
  • Produces the required quantity of parts within established specifications and tolerances.
  • Measures finished parts with precision tools, ensuring compliance with function, quality, and cosmetic specifications.
  • Maintains logs and records of units produced including a record of errors resulting in rejected or discarded pieces.
  • Inspects equipment prior to use to ensure proper setup and alignment; performs basic and routine adjustments and maintenance.
  • Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly work area.
  • Conducts appropriate machine maintenance and maintains the brake tooling.
  • Responsible for the quality of parts leaving the machine.
  • Keeping up with an outlined schedule of work.
  • Assists in the Press Brake training process for other employees.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by leadership
