About The Position

Perform the set up and operation of the press brake equipment to bend, form and shape metal sheets and plates per specifications and standard operating procedures. Starting Hourly Pay Rate: $

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and job orders to determine machine specification.
• Position guides, stops, holding blocks or other fixtures to secure and direct the workpiece, using hand tools and measuring devices.
• Align workpieces to ensure accurate bending angles and dimensions.
• Verify dimensions of finished workpieces, using measuring devices.
• Make adjustments as needed to maintain product quality.
• Perform basic maintenance, such as cleaning and lubricating machine parts.
• Start up and shut down machines properly.
• Consistently and safely operate machines at or above standards of operation including waste, quality, efficiency and utilization.
• Troubleshoot, identify and correct machine-related problems through proper adjustments to various parts of the machine.
• Work in a safe and efficient manner using all personal protective, safety equipment and devices that are required, in accordance with all STW documentation (if STW is not developed for any process within this job, proper training techniques must be followed).
• Be actively involved in Continuous Improvement; promote and sustain any and all CI, 5S and STW activities.
• Contribute to a team effort.
• Maintain a safe and clean workspace.
• Other duties as assigned.
