Job Summary We’re seeking an experienced Press Brake Operator who thrives in a fast-paced, custom fabrication environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to read and interpret blueprints, and hands-on experience operating Amada and Bystronic press brakes. This role plays a key part in producing high-quality parts and ensuring operational excellence on the production floor.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED; or 3+ years of related experience/training
- Proven experience as a press brake operator in a contract manufacturing/job shop environment
- Familiarity with Amada and Bystronic press brake machines, including programming adjustments
- Strong ability to read blueprints, travelers, and setup notes
- Skilled in using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring tools
- Ability to perform bend allowance and other machining calculations
- Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of metal fabrication processes
- Valid Michigan driver’s license (required for lift truck certification at DeWys Manufacturing)
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate Amada and Bystronic press brake machines
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work instructions
- Make necessary machine programming adjustments to maintain quality and precision
- Measure and inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools
- Maintain an efficient production rate while producing accurate, custom components
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and improve manufacturing processes
- Ensure safety procedures are followed at all times
- Exhibit reliability, initiative, and a strong work ethic
- Demonstrate continuous improvement and willingness to learn new skills
