Job Summary We’re seeking an experienced Press Brake Operator who thrives in a fast-paced, custom fabrication environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to read and interpret blueprints, and hands-on experience operating Amada and Bystronic press brakes. This role plays a key part in producing high-quality parts and ensuring operational excellence on the production floor.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; or 3+ years of related experience/training
  • Proven experience as a press brake operator in a contract manufacturing/job shop environment
  • Familiarity with Amada and Bystronic press brake machines, including programming adjustments
  • Strong ability to read blueprints, travelers, and setup notes
  • Skilled in using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring tools
  • Ability to perform bend allowance and other machining calculations
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of metal fabrication processes
  • Valid Michigan driver’s license (required for lift truck certification at DeWys Manufacturing)

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate Amada and Bystronic press brake machines
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work instructions
  • Make necessary machine programming adjustments to maintain quality and precision
  • Measure and inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools
  • Maintain an efficient production rate while producing accurate, custom components
  • Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and improve manufacturing processes
  • Ensure safety procedures are followed at all times
  • Exhibit reliability, initiative, and a strong work ethic
  • Demonstrate continuous improvement and willingness to learn new skills
