About The Position

Under general supervision, the PRESS BRAKE OPERATOR is responsible for bending and forming metal sheets and plates by applying appropriate techniques in accordance with product specifications and safety requirements. Reports to the Front Fabrication Supervisor Essential Duties and Responsibilities: This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time. Shifts Available: 1st Shift (6:00AM – 2:30PM Monday – Friday)

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education (GED) and 4 or more years of work experience required.
• Basic hands-on mechanical aptitude.
• Must have worked with and thoroughly understand press brake equipment to run proper pre- and post- safety and preventive maintenance (PM) operations.
• Ability to understand and properly interpret work orders, follow procedures and maintain a high attention to detail.
• Basic math skills (add, multiply, subtract, divide, whole numbers, and fractions), including the ability to interpret measurements using handheld and mechanical measuring devices and power tools.
• Ability to work individually, or on occasion in a team environment.
• Basic proficiency in using computers, Microsoft Office desirable.

Responsibilities

• Understands the bending and forming processes, machinery, and operations to make equipment adjustments as necessary and safely and as trained to produce quality components.
• Reviews bills of materials and consistently checks material measurements and thickness for accuracy.
• Checks all incoming material to sketches/drawings/documents to ensure quality parts.
• Selects proper tooling to perform the job; responsible for storing all tooling appropriately to ensure prolonged tool life and quality.
• Forms material by safely and correctly holding and guiding material into press brake.
• Complete and maintain all necessary and associated paperwork.
• Sound ability to understand and properly interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work orders, following procedures.
• Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Good organizational and cleanliness skills (Super Steel 7S) are required.
• Adhere to all Super Steel and OSHA safety-related work rules and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned or required.
