IFAB Corp. is a leading manufacturing company specializing in metal fabrication, assembly, and coating services. Our state-of-the-art plant houses cutting-edge equipment, including lasers and coil stamp machines. We take pride in our commitment to quality, safety, and operational excellence. Job Summary: The Press Brake Operator is responsible for setting up and operating press brake machines to perform precise bending, shaping, and forming operations on metal sheets or plates. The operator ensures that the finished products meet quality standards and comply with the design specifications. The operator must also follow safety guidelines and maintain the equipment in good working condition.

  • Set up and adjust the press brake machine, including selecting and installing dies, setting correct angles, and adjusting machine parameters to meet the specifications.
  • Operate the press brake machine to bend, form, and shape metal pieces according to blueprints, work orders, or job specifications.
  • Program CNC (Computer Numerical Control) press brake machines, if applicable, to ensure precise cuts and bends.
  • Monitor the bending process, adjusting machine settings when necessary to maintain accuracy and prevent defects.
  • Inspect finished products to ensure they meet design specifications, tolerances, and quality standards.
  • Perform routine checks using measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, protractors) to ensure correct dimensions and angles.
  • Identify and correct any issues with machine settings, materials, or production errors during the process.
  • Load and unload metal sheets or plates onto the press brake machine, ensuring that materials are correctly positioned for efficient operation.
  • Handle various types of metal (steel, aluminum, brass, etc.) and adjust settings according to material specifications.
  • Perform routine maintenance on press brake machines, such as cleaning, lubricating, and checking for wear and tear.
  • Follow all safety protocols, including wearing proper personal protective equipment (PPE), and report any unsafe conditions to supervisors.
  • Troubleshoot and repair minor issues with the press brake machine, escalating more serious problems to maintenance personnel.
  • Record production data, including material usage, machine settings, and quantities produced, in compliance with company requirements.
  • Communicate with supervisors or engineers about production issues, quality concerns, or equipment malfunctions.
  • Work with other operators, fabricators, and engineers to improve production efficiency and resolve any technical issues.
  • Follow instructions from supervisors and engineers to implement changes in production processes.
  • Proficient in setting up and operating press brake machines, both manual and CNC-controlled.
  • Knowledge of metal types, material properties, and how to adjust machine settings accordingly.
  • Experience using measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, protractors) to check dimensions and angles.
  • Basic understanding of blueprints, technical drawings, and production schedules.
  • Ability to troubleshoot machine issues and make adjustments to maintain production flow.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure parts meet strict specifications and tolerances.
  • Ability to lift and carry metal sheets or plates (typically up to 50 pounds).
  • Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Prior experience as a press brake operator or in a similar metal fabrication role is preferred.
  • Familiarity with safety standards in a manufacturing environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in machine operation or metal fabrication is a plus.
