About The Position

NovelAire is seeking a Press Brake Operator to join our team. This position plays a vital role in our production process, ensuring the accurate and efficient forming of metal parts. The Press Brake Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining press brakes to bend and form metal workpieces according to specifications. This includes selecting appropriate tooling, programming the machine (if required), and inspecting finished parts to ensure quality. Requirements

  • Ability to perform basic math/geometry calculations.
  • Ability to stay focused at a machine for the entire duration of shift.
  • Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50lbs)
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate press brakes, including loading and unloading materials.
  • Interpret patterns, work orders, and other specifications to determine job requirements.
  • Select, install, and adjust appropriate tooling for each job.
  • Program brake controls (if required) or adjust pre-programmed parameters to achieve desired bends and angles.
  • Perform first-part inspections and in-process quality checks using precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers and angle protractors).
  • Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as needed to ensure consistent and accurate bending.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Perform routine maintenance on the press brake and tooling.
  • Troubleshoot machine issues and report any malfunctions to the supervisor.
  • Collaborate with other team members to optimize production processes.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • May be required to perform other related duties as assigned.
