Our New Jersey-State St. location is growing! We are currently seeking a mechanically inclined, detail-oriented Assistant Operator who effectively communicates and thrives in a team-oriented atmosphere. Summary: The Assistant Press Operator assists the Press Operator and Lead Press operator in the basic setup and maintenance of the presses verifying proper paper sheet sizes and types. They are also responsible for ensuring that all presses are supplied and fed with required quantities of paper and other consumables.
Requirements
- 1 years’ experience of working within a fast-paced production or manufacturing environment
- Ability to read and comprehend job assignment tickets and customer instructional specifications
- Basic computer knowledge
- Effectively communicate with all members of the organization
- Excellent attention to detail
- Quality, production, and team oriented
- Mechanically inclined
- Ability to adapt to schedule changes based on the needs of production
- Ability to cross train and work in other departments and/or machines
Nice To Haves
- High School Diploma or GED equivalency, preferred
Responsibilities
- Checks paper sheet size/type etc., and verify materials required
- Assists with managing the preparation of next jobs to be printed
- Assist with press maintenance tasks and cleaning
- Actively remove waste items for recycling
- Complete and maintain all required paperwork, records, documents, etc.
- Ensure all equipment, tools, and workstation are in good working order and is free of safety hazards
- Report workplace hazards to management immediately
- Wear all assigned Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when required
- Report all work related injuries, illnesses, and/or near misses to management immediately
- Keep all work area/station in compliance with our housekeeping guidelines
- Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations
- Maintain departmental housekeeping standards, such as keeping floors swept and absent of debris that may be a work hazard
- Regularly perform general housekeeping duties in your work area(s)
- Adhere to all safety policies and protocols and maintain a safe working environment
- Attend all department/company meetings
- Other duties as assigned
