About The Position

The President & Chief Operating Officer (COO) will serve as a senior executive leader responsible for driving operational excellence, strategic execution, and sustainable growth within a high -performing, project -based construction services organization. Reporting directly to ownership, this role is central to the company’s leadership transition plan and will play a pivotal role in shaping the organization’s operational future. The President & COO will lead all aspects of project delivery, from estimating and contract negotiation to execution and closeout, ensuring consistent performance across complex, high -value engagements. With a focus on disciplined operations, financial accountability, and risk management, this leader will work closely with the financial executive to deliver strong P&L results and strengthen enterprise resilience. The position demands a seasoned executive with deep construction industry expertise, proven success in securing major contracts, and the ability to lead with credibility, clarity, and operational precision in a lean, performance -driven environment.

Requirements

  • Proven senior executive leadership experience in commercial construction or project -based contracting environments
  • Demonstrated success in managing large -scale, complex project portfolios from inception to completion
  • Track record of securing and delivering high -value, major contract engagements
  • Deep familiarity with insurance -related reconstruction or similar project delivery models
  • Strong commercial judgment, negotiation skills, and contract management expertise
  • Undergraduate degree in engineering, construction management, business, or a related technical field (preferred)
  • Calm, credible executive presence with the ability to lead under pressure
  • Exceptional decision -making skills and a high level of personal accountability
  • Trustworthy, consistent, and accessible leadership style with a focus on operational discipline
  • Experience leading lean, high -performance organizations in dynamic, results -oriented settings

Responsibilities

  • Provide executive leadership across estimating, project management, and field operations
  • Ensure consistent, high -quality execution of complex construction projects from contract award to final closeout
  • Design and implement operational systems that enhance efficiency, scalability, and accountability
  • Partner with Human Resources to reinforce performance culture, talent development, and leadership standards
  • Align day -to -day operations with long -term strategic objectives and business goals
  • Lead high -level client engagements with property owners, asset managers, and key stakeholders
  • Develop project scopes, manage expectations, and structure commercial terms prior to contract execution
  • Negotiate complex construction agreements and deliver commercially viable outcomes
  • Represent the organization in pursuit of major project opportunities and high -stakes negotiations
  • Apply practical knowledge of insurance -driven reconstruction processes to scope development and stakeholder alignment
  • Lead negotiations with insurance carriers and third -party representatives to achieve favorable outcomes
  • Evaluate and negotiate contract language, ensuring alignment with operational capabilities and financial objectives
  • Assess project risks and financial exposure, partnering with legal counsel when necessary while maintaining executive ownership
  • Collaborate with financial leadership on P&L performance, sales pipeline management, and forecasting accuracy
  • Monitor job costing, operational margins, and capital allocation across major initiatives
  • Oversee contractual risk exposure, insurance compliance, and banking relationships
  • Strengthen and manage strategic subcontractor and vendor partnerships
  • Foster collaborative, high -performance relationships with key trade partners
  • Support subcontractor delivery of consistent quality, safety, and schedule adherence
  • Ensure all partner relationships meet company standards and performance expectations
