About The Position
University Health is expanding to better serve the diverse needs of our San Antonio community with the development of a new, state-of-the-art community hospital. This modern facility will bring high-quality, compassionate care to the city's east side. We are seeking a visionary and dynamic President & CEO to lead this new hospital and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of community healthcare in South Texas. Opening in 2027, the University Health Retama Hospital campus will span 42 acres and feature a cutting-edge, five-story hospital. The campus will offer a full range of services, including a 24/7 Emergency Department, labor and delivery unit, NICU, inpatient units, operating rooms, radiology, and laboratory services. The development of Retama Hospital builds on University Health's recent efforts to expand access to primary and specialty care in Northeast San Antonio, reducing the need for residents to travel long distances for essential health services.
