The President, Hawaii Market is responsible for the overall functioning and success of the integrated health networks in Hawaii. The President’s primary responsibility is to provide professional leadership and strategic direction to the Altais family of companies, working in close collaboration with Altais Contracting team, Operations, Strategy and Finance functions. The President will be accountable for the overall performance of the Hawaii network including financial, strategic, operational, and clinical performance. The President is accountable for setting and communicating the overall strategy, providing functional oversight, and providing direction to the teams building out the Altais Hawaii marketplace. The President is responsible for ensuring accurate and complete communications with the relevant Clinical Advisory Groups, network members and the broader community of stakeholders at Altais. The President will be supported with significant resources from Altais including HR, claims, clinical, risk adjustment, quality, network, etc. The President is responsible for coordinating priorities and activities of the Company.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Must have a minimum of 7-10 years of leadership experience, including progressive leadership responsibilities in the healthcare industry, inclusive of experience in multispecialty medical groups, integrated healthcare delivery systems, and hospitals
  • Strategic Planning including provider contracting and merger, acquisition, or physician network expansion efforts.

  • With the Clinical Advisory Groups and network leaders, conducts long-term planning for the Company.
  • Must have a high level of intelligence, strong analytical skills and a demonstrated understanding of industry, business and medical group issues including finance and contracting.
  • Must have leadership qualities needed to attract and retain a dynamic, professional, and responsive senior executive capable of growing the company and creating increased shareholder value.
  • Must have a demonstrated ability to secure the trust and confidence of the Board in a manner that assures an effective, open and productive working relationship.
  • Must have demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all internal and external constituencies.

Responsibilities

  • Sets and communicates strategic direction.
  • Works in concert with the Altais CEO to articulate a clear strategy that is aligned with the company’s mission, while making the most of the Company’s opportunities and capabilities.
  • Provides primary representation of the Company in all such matters.
  • Provides Company financial oversight.
  • Ensures that the Company has the capabilities to execute its business model and takes steps to ensure that the network members and its payor partners understands the financial risks and rewards associated with conducting business operations.
  • Participates in annual financial (budgeting) planning and quarterly reviews.
  • Assumes a leadership role in allocating resources.
  • Is responsible for the long-range financial health of the Company.
  • Acts as the official spokesperson on business matters and represents the Company in negotiations or meetings with outside agencies/organizations.
  • Represents the Company in its relationships with other health organizations, government agencies and third-party payors, as appropriate and consistent with business segregation principles.
  • Responsible for ongoing governance/Clinical Advisory Group, business development, including requisite resources for Group Member training and education, keeping stakeholders apprised of Clinical Advisory Group and network activities and providing for the orderly succession of Group members and key executives.
  • Understands the near-term and long-term priorities for attracting and retaining talented members of the top executive team.
  • Supports an effective relationship between Management Team and the larger broader network providing leadership to ensure collaboration among the parties.
  • Acts as liaison and channel of communications between providers and MSO staff, Clinical Advisory Group(s) and its standing Committees.
  • Provides ongoing administrative and managerial oversight of all Committee activity.
  • Provides physician practice stewardship by promoting relationships with major hospital and community stakeholders that best align with the Company’s interests.
  • Advances strategies to enhance the efficiency and economics of physician practices.
  • Ensures the provision of affordable health care services by the acquisition, utilization, and organization of Altais resources.
  • Ensures the ongoing development of functional and managerial resources; ensures all requisite resources meet the quality, cost and efficiency needs of the Company.
  • Works with the network and Management to develop policies and strategies for the future direction of the company and for the implementation of sensitive issues.
  • Responsible for all designated duties described in Altais legal entities’ bylaws, and as required by State of California agencies governing professional corporations.
  • Performs other tasks and duties of a similar nature as assigned by the Altais CEO.
