About The Position

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) is an integral multidisciplinary team member. This position provides clinical services in various settings, including adult inpatient and/or outpatient settings. The role involves applying medical knowledge and skills to the process of diagnosis, prevention and/or treatment of illnesses, conducting psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments, and offering psychotropic treatment options and input to treatment plans. Additionally, the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner performs, analyzes, and documents findings for mental health and substance abuse assessments and interventions as appropriate for specialty training and population services. The position also includes providing consultations regarding diagnosis and treatment to other agency staff or community partners, participating in authorizations of medical necessity, and completing involuntary holds by performing professional comprehensive and timely court-ordered mental health evaluations.
