About The Position

The Round Lake Area Park District is hiring Lead Teachers for our preschool program. This is a seasonal position with up to 25 hours per week, working in our two-year-old preschool classroom. The Lead Teacher is responsible for planning and implementing developmentally appropriate activities that support the social, emotional, and early learning needs of two-year-old children. Requirements

  • Associate’s degree with a minimum of six (6) college credits in Early Childhood Education or Child Development , OR Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education (Applicants who do not meet the six-credit minimum in Early Childhood Education are not eligible for hire.)
  • Experience working with preschool-aged children required
  • Current Child First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain upon hire

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with two-year-old children preferred

Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement engaging, age-appropriate group activities, including but not limited to music, art, games, and early literacy experiences
  • Maintain a safe, nurturing, and structured classroom environment
  • Provide consistent supervision to ensure the safety and well-being of all children at all times
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with children, parents/guardians, and coworkers
  • Support children’s social, emotional, and developmental growth through positive guidance and interaction
