About The Position

The Lead Preschool Teacher at Blue House Preschool is responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing an instructional program that supports the holistic development of children in a safe and nurturing environment. This full-time role emphasizes a blend of academic curriculum and play-based learning, fostering the intellectual, emotional, social, and physical growth of preschool-aged children.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in early childhood or a related field.
  • Valid Child Development Associate Certification (preferred).
  • Experience in teaching, particularly in a licensed preschool setting.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, parents, and administration.
  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, including punctuality and self-motivation.
  • Intellectual curiosity and a diagnostic approach to teaching.
  • Knowledge and implementation of relevant technology.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a licensed preschool setting is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, prepares, and delivers lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active and meaningful learning.
  • Develops schemes of work, lesson plans, and diagnostic assessments in accordance with established practices and learning objectives.
  • Instructs and facilitates students' use of learning materials and equipment.
  • Demonstrates competency in relevant development and curriculum to support and differentiate instruction.
  • Establishes and maintains appropriate student behavior in the classroom and school grounds, ensuring the health and safety of students.
  • Encourages and monitors individual student progress, adjusting teaching strategies as necessary.
  • Maintains accurate and complete records of students' progress and development.
  • Participates in professional development, curriculum development, and meetings.
  • Communicates necessary information regarding students' progress to students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Establishes an organized and prepared classroom with a logical physical setup.
  • Directs the work and responsibilities of the assistant teacher, providing feedback and mentoring.
  • Collaborates with colleagues and seeks feedback on teaching practices.
  • Participates in assigned duties including carpool and playground supervision.
  • Engages in school-sponsored activities and events.
