About The Position

The Preschool Teacher at Carden Academy of Whittier, LLC is responsible for fostering a nurturing and educational environment for preschool-aged children. This part-time role involves implementing The Carden Method® to support the natural development of each child, ensuring they thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. The teacher will engage in planning, teaching, and evaluating students while maintaining a positive classroom atmosphere and collaborating with colleagues to enhance the learning experience.

Requirements

• CPR Certification
• Teaching Certification
• First Aid Certification
• Classroom experience
• Preschool experience (1 year)
• Associate's degree in Education
• Strong communication skills
• Knowledge of The Carden Method®

• Experience in a licensed preschool
• Knowledge of Child Growth and Development
• Knowledge of Curriculum Theories, Methods, and Materials

Responsibilities

• Implement instructional activities to engage students in meaningful learning experiences
• Provide a positive, safe, and clean classroom environment
• Facilitate activities and projects that incorporate communication, collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking
• Identify, select, and modify instructional resources to meet the needs of students with varying backgrounds and learning styles
• Communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with students, parents, and others
• Collaborate with peers to enhance the instructional environment
• Participate in training and professional development
• Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits
• Act in a professional and ethical manner and comply with school policies
• Perform other duties and responsibilities assigned by the supervisor
• Maintain communication with the Director/Assistant Director regarding absences and needs
• Keep First Aid and CPR certificates current
