Concord Carousel Preschool has an opportunity for caring and energetic teachers to join our team of educators. Candidates must have a background or experience in early childhood education, with a degree preferred. Candidates are required to meet EEC teacher qualifications. The ideal candidate is flexible, willing to work as part of a team and has the ability to help create and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum. The successful candidate will have access to ongoing training and competitive compensation and have the opportunity to enroll their age-appropriate children in our program with no tuition cost and special discounted rates for other programs. This is a 10-month school year position following the Concord Public School calendar from late August until mid-June. Mornings only 8:30A-12:45P, additional hours for planning, staff meetings, etc. Excludes school vacation weeks, professional days and holidays.

  • Contribute to an engaging environment that fosters a sense of belonging for all students and staff.
  • Participate in planning and implementing curriculum, meeting the social-emotional, physical and intellectual needs of the children based on the goals, philosophy and general curriculum plan of the Concord Carousel Preschool Program.
  • Implement routines and participate in creating weekly written lesson plans exhibiting a knowledge of good child development principles.
  • Ensure the health and safety of children through constant supervision, arrangement of space, proper maintenance of equipment and knowledge of emergency procedures.
  • Utilize positive guidance techniques in accordance with EEC guidelines and Carousel policy.
  • Contribute to written records of individual student progress.
  • Communicate with parents and other staff through daily contact, newsletters, and conferences (as requested/required).
  • Attend and participate in monthly staff meetings and professional development training, as required by EEC and the Childcare Manager.
  • Attend conferences and workshops to achieve personal goals and promote professional growth and to meet professional development requirements.
  • Show awareness of specific individual health plans and comply with plans, including required training (EPI pen administration, insulin pump operation, etc.).
  • Exhibit knowledge about and adhere to program policies and procedures, including those for emergencies, medication administration, suspected abuse/neglect and referrals.
  • Operate the classroom/site in compliance with EEC regulations and DOE Standards.
  • Comply with personnel policies of the Town of Concord, Concord Recreation and EEC/Childcare Programs.
  • Must be 21 years of age and have at least a HS diploma.
  • Must have a suitable BRC.
  • Must meet EEC work experience and education requirements for Teacher Qualifications including 3 credits (or equivalent CEUs/PDPs) in Child Growth and Development.
  • Bachelor or Associate Degree in Early Childhood/Education, preferred.
  • Must have completed EEC Essentials Training prior to working.
  • Must comply with EEC Background Records Check regulations and Professional Qualification Registry requirements.
