About The Position
The Raritan Bay Area YMCA is currently accepting applications/resumes for Preschool Teacher Assistants for the Y’s Early Learning Center. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic urban, growing organization just 5 miles west of New York City in the waterfront city of Perth Amboy. The Raritan Bay Area YMCA has served the ever-evolving needs of our community since 1912. We enthusiastically serve over 6,000 members in the Raritan Bay area in our community building initiatives through Healthy Living, Youth Development and Social Responsibility. Under the supervision of the Preschool Director and the guidance of the classroom Preschool Teacher, the Preschool Teacher Assistant is responsible for assisting in the delivery of a high-quality educational experience, using the Creative Curriculum, for the students under his/her care.
Requirements
- Applicant must be 21 years of age or older.
- Minimum of one-year related experience or proven performances working in a childcare program preferably with children ages 3-5 years old (this requirement may be fulfilled through a practicum or student teaching).
- Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or its equivalent.
- CPR and First Aid (must obtain within first 6 months of employment)
