About The Position

The Preschool Teacher I at Abundant Preschool of Learning is responsible for providing a nurturing and educational environment for young children. This role involves implementing faith-based lesson plans, managing classroom activities, and fostering children's cognitive and social development. The teacher will work closely with parents and staff to ensure a safe and engaging learning atmosphere, while also adhering to the values and mission of Patria Church.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum 12 Early Childhood Education units.
• 2-3 years of experience in a licensed childcare facility.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Current TB test and ability to pass background investigation and drug screen.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with classroom management techniques.
• Knowledge of age-appropriate activities for children.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with parents and staff.

Responsibilities

• Implement weekly faith-based lesson plans following APL curriculum and Abeka curriculum.
• Conduct daily activities that foster fine and gross motor development.
• Update the communication application Brightwheel with messages, meals, and pictures.
• Teach cognitive skills such as letter and number recognition, counting, colors, and shapes.
• Supervise children to prevent injuries and respond appropriately to accidents.
• Conduct daily health checks on each child as they sign in for the day.
• Maintain strict confidentiality regarding children and their families.
• Perform other related duties as requested by the Director or another administrator.
