Preschool TA Substitute
About The Position
Responsibilities include supervising and interacting with children in a Christian School environment. Help maintain a positive, safe and developmentally appropriate class setting in accordance with all relevant laws, policies and procedures. May involve potty training and diapering. Should have the physical ability to sit with children and perform physical activities with them. Must be flexible to work in different classes and work with different age groups of children. Have a heart for ministry to children and implementing the core values of Water of Life Community Church. Have a general understanding of Bible stories and a willingness to be trained in telling stories in a fun and exciting manner.
Requirements
- Twelve (12) Early Childhood Development college units Core Classes - CD Growth & Development, CD Child/Family/Community, CD Curriculum or Principles/Practices
- Satisfactory "Live scan" fingerprint and child abuse index clearance by the DOJ
- Current CPR and First Aid Training
- Current physical with a TB test; current Tdap, MMR and Influenza vaccinations
- Basic knowledge in office technology tools (web-based, MS Office, etc.); intermediate knowledge preferred
- Ability to lift/carry up to 40 pounds
- Demonstrated passion for children and their care and development
- Flexible, positive attitude
- Aspire to be a Christian role model in accordance with 1 Timothy, chapter 3
- Maintain a consistent relationship with God, demonstrate a strong and growing walk with Christ and live a Biblical lifestyle that honors Christ
- Be personally committed to the ideals, values and mission of WOL
- Ability to appropriately handle confidential information; refraining from gossip
- Ability to resolve issues according to Matthew 18
- Be/become a member at either Water of Life or a church with a similar Statement of Faith, and regularly attend its weekend services
Nice To Haves
- One (1) year experience working with children ages 3-5 in a group setting preferred
- Intermediate knowledge in office technology tools (web-based, MS Office, etc.)
