About The Position

Requirements

• High school diploma (required)
• Experience with young children and/or children with diverse abilities (required)
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

• Assist in the supervision and daily care of children in the classroom, all play areas, and during transitions, ensuring safety at all times
• Support implementation of daily routines and classroom schedules, including arrival, meals/snacks, small and large group activities, and dismissal
• Foster positive and nurturing relationships with all children, providing responsive interaction and guidance throughout the day
• Assist with the preparation and maintenance of materials and classroom environments
• Support the implementation of individual student goals and accommodations under the direction of the Lead Teacher and therapy team
• Observe and document student behaviors, interactions, and progress, sharing relevant information with classroom staff
• Participate actively in classroom planning sessions, team meetings, and professional development opportunities
• Communicate respectfully and effectively with families and colleagues
• Maintain confidentiality regarding students, families, and classroom matters
• Model and promote inclusive practices and equity within the classroom and broader school community
• Assist with classroom hygiene tasks (e.g., handwashing routines, cleaning toys and surfaces, toileting assistance as needed)
• Respond calmly and promptly in emergency or crisis situations following school procedures
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Lead Teacher or supervisor
