About The Position

Soccer Shots - Portland is looking for passionate coaches to engage children ages 2-8 and provide a remarkable experience. Join Soccer Shots and be the best part of a child’s week! The job involves bringing 'Soccer Island' alive with enthusiasm and creativity, conducting soccer classes for children 2 to 8 years old, and encouraging character development through positive reinforcement and modeling. Coaches will utilize expert-created Soccer Shots’ curriculum and early childhood development teaching techniques in every session, fostering a safe and inclusive environment for all participants.

Requirements

• Experience working with preschool age children.
• Genuine passion for children and sports.
• Energetic, engaging, responsible and safety conscious.
• Ability to adapt to the needs of kids ages 2-8.
• Drivers license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to stand, jog, and model children’s soccer skills.
• Coaches must have or obtain state-required background clearances.

Responsibilities

• Conduct soccer classes for children 2 to 8 years old, including field set-up and take-down.
• Encourage character development through positive reinforcement and modeling.
• Attend seasonal training sessions and mid-season refreshers at our clubhouse.
• Utilize expert-created Soccer Shots’ curriculum and early childhood development teaching techniques in every session.
• Foster a safe and inclusive environment for all participants.
• Follow all on-site safety and attendance protocols.
• Communicate effectively with supervisor, families, and teachers.
• Transport self and equipment to class location, setup and tear down field.
