The Preschool Paraprofessional in Integrated Classroom is responsible for supervising students at all times, ensuring their safety as indicated on the Individualized Education Program (IEP). The role involves providing discrete trial instruction to identified students and maintaining accurate skill acquisition data. The paraprofessional will monitor student behavior according to the Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP) and collect data for progress monitoring. Additionally, the position requires direct teaching of daily living skills, including eating, drinking, dressing, bathroom, and hygiene skills. The use of Applied Behavior Analysis teaching principles is essential throughout the school day when working with students. The paraprofessional will also provide instructional support as necessary and utilize therapeutic and self-regulatory principles to support the needs of all students. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate as part of a multi-disciplinary team are crucial for this role.
