About The Position

The position involves assisting preschool classroom teachers under general supervision. The role includes performing a variety of tasks aimed at teaching language, social, and motor skills to preschool-aged or prekindergarten-aged children in a preschool setting. Responsibilities also include preparing materials for activities and instruction, providing basic clerical support in the classroom, assisting with assessing student progress, and providing outdoor supervision for children. Additional related duties may be assigned as necessary.

Requirements

• Twelve (12) units of Early Childhood Education (ECE) or Child Development (CD).
• Recent paid or volunteer experience working with school-age children.
• A valid California driver's license and the ability to maintain insurability under the District's vehicle insurance program may be required in some assignments.
• Annual certification for CPR and First Aid required within three months of appointment and during the course of employment.
• A Child Development Associate Teacher Permit or higher is required and must be maintained.
• Immunizations required for licensing purposes, if applicable to assignment.
