About The Position

The Specialist’s role is to support preschool program and classrooms to maintain compliance to federal, state, and local regulations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Expertise in working within google system to create and maintain spreadsheets, communication, shared documents, file storage
  • Models the attributes and skills of the MPS Portrait of a Graduate.

  • Ability to learn new information and processes with limited guidance

  • Ability to create, organize, track many detailed items
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and crouch to observe various parts of a facility, including child-sized spaces or playground equipment
  • Occasionally may need to lift or carry materials or equipment (e.g., binders, inspection kits) weighing up to 25 pounds

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain detailed documents to track student registration, placement, attendance and services under multiple systems with specific regulations
  • Coordinate registration connected to use of grant funds
  • Enroll students under tuition programs, collect payments, monitor accounts, communicate with families about accounts as needed
  • Communicate effectively with teachers, school personnel and department staff about student enrollment
  • Create and maintain staff records documenting compliance with local, state and federal regulations
  • Oversee all aspects of compliance with AZ Department of Health Services Child Care Licensing to include staff files, site files, preparation for and response to inspections, and renewals
  • Communicate effectively with teachers, school personnel and department staff about student enrollment
  • Coordinate with site and district personnel about maintenance and repairs necessary to comply with licensing regulations.
  • Follow processes to completion
  • Monitor pool of instructional assistants to include review of applications, screening applicants, coordination of processes to hire, place and schedule instructional assistants
  • Oversee budget processes to include verifying expenditures, creating reports, and keeping director informed of financial health
  • Fulfill the role of registrar as needed for groups of students
  • Assist other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities
  • Assists with other assigned duties as appropriate to the area of assignment and Mesa Public Schools

  • New Hire Experience: 1% of the base hourly rate granted for each year of verified like experience (within ten years) beyond the requirement, up to a ten-year maximum
  • New Hire Education: 1% of the base hourly rate awarded for an AA or higher degree if not required for the position
