About The Position

The Learning Experience – Upper West Side is hiring an experienced and motivated Preschool Lead Teacher to guide our 2-year-old classroom in a high-quality early childhood education setting. Our school offers a structured, play-based environment where children build confidence, independence, and foundational learning skills. This position is ideal for an educator with a background in Early Childhood Education who enjoys leading a classroom, mentoring teammates, and partnering with families.

Requirements

BA or AA in Early Childhood Education OR currently enrolled and actively working toward completion
Minimum 6 months of professional experience in a preschool or childcare classroom
Strong knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices (DAP)
Must meet all NYC and New York State childcare licensing requirements

Nice To Haves

CPR/First Aid certification preferred

Responsibilities

Lead daily classroom operations for a preschool/2s classroom in a safe and engaging environment
Deliver developmentally appropriate lessons using The Learning Experience L.E.A.P. Curriculum
Support children’s social-emotional growth, language development, and early learning milestones
Communicate consistently with families regarding progress, routines, and classroom activities
Collaborate with assistant teachers to maintain structure, consistency, and positive classroom culture
Ensure compliance with NYC childcare regulations and center safety standards
