About The Position

Position Title: Preschool Lead Teacher-County Floater Program: Education and Child Development/Thrive to Five Classification: Exempt/Full Time Locations: The Preschool Lead Teacher-County Floater will be traveling across our county classrooms: Denver, Reamstown, Ephrata, East Petersburg, Paradise, Quarryville, Holtwood, and Mount Joy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field with a minimum of 18 credits in Early Childhood Education with PA teaching Certificate

Responsibilities

  • Use the curriculum to structure the learning environment and daily routine.
  • Follow standards of practice outlined by Thrive to Five leadership.
  • Provide weekly written plans for instruction aligned with PA Early Learning Standards.
  • Create and implement individualized plans to meet the diverse needs of children.
  • Use data collected on individual children to inform lesson plans and activities.
  • Perform required developmental screenings and evaluations and share results with families.
  • Follow all safety and health procedures as outlined by regulatory standards.
  • Provide active supervision of children at all times.
  • Plan daily gross motor activities.
  • Follow meal service standards and teach about health, sanitation, and nutrition.
  • Assist with ensuring all children receive required health screenings.
  • Teach children proper safety skills and hygiene practices.
  • Follow procedures when assisting children with toileting, diapering, teeth brushing, and rest time.
  • Implement social-emotional universal practices and behavior support plans.
  • Teach and model social-emotional skills.
  • Implement behavior support plans as needed.
  • Provide a welcoming and inclusive environment for families.
  • Facilitate parent engagement events.
  • Follow all CAP and Thrive to Five policies and procedures.
  • Work with the Early Learning Supervisor to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Participate in professional development and job-related training.
  • Foster supportive relationships with co-workers, community partners, families, and volunteers.
  • Prepare, update, and close the classroom.
  • Plan lessons and maintain required certifications and licenses.
  • Participate in committee work and respond to communications in a timely manner.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
