About The Position

Aikahi Preschool in Kailua is seeking a reliable, caring team member to support both its kitchen and classrooms. This role offers a balanced, hands-on day, where mornings are dedicated to helping prepare meals and caring for the keiki, and afternoons involve assisting teachers and engaging in the classroom. It is an ideal fit for individuals who enjoy working with children, maintaining organization, and contributing where most needed. The position is full-time and offers a clear career path for those interested in Early Childhood Education, including support to earn a Child Development Associate (CDA) and eligibility for promotion to a Preschool Teacher after one year of classroom experience and a CDA.

Requirements

• A High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
• A nurturing, patient, dependable personality
• A love of working with young children
• A willingness to learn and be part of a collaborative team
• The ability to stay organized and manage your time across two roles
• Must be eligible to work in the U.S. and reside in Hawai‘i (or plan to relocate)

Responsibilities

• Dishing out catered lunch for our keiki
• Delivering meals to classrooms with warmth and attention
• Washing breakfast/lunch dishes
• Keeping the kitchen clean, organized, and running smoothly
• Supporting safe and nurturing mealtime routines
• Engage with children through play, learning activities, and routines
• Support lead teachers in classroom prep and supervision
• Create safe, joyful, caring environments for our keiki
• Build relationships with children and staff as part of our teaching ‘ohana
