Preschool Instructor - Child Enrichment Center 2024-2025 School Year Position Title: Preschool Instructor-Child Enrichment Center Department/Section: Educational Enrichment Supervisor: Child Enrichment Center Director & Director of Educational Enrichment Hourly Rate: $18.50 - $19.25/hour (depending on experience) Schedule: Full and Part Time positions available. Schedule: Full and Part Time positions available. Benefits: Positions of 20 hours/week or more qualify for Arizona State Retirement System. Positions of 30 hours/week or more qualify for Benefits offered and Arizona State Retirement System. SUMMARY OF FUNCTION Supervise and interact with assigned group of children, infants through preschoolers (ages 6 weeks to 5 years). Provide physical and emotional care while carrying out developmental activities. Ensure health, safety and well-being in a daycare environment. Position requires lifting, diaper changing and meeting the basic needs of children throughout the day, as well as planning and providing age-appropriate play and learning activities.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent certification required, as well as some post-secondary education in early childhood (60+ hours training or equivalent EDU, ECE, CDA, AA coursework).
  • Minimum of 6 months' experience in an early childhood setting and ability to lift 40 pounds.
  • Needs to be a self-starter, organized, creative, energetic and a team player.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain First Aid/CPR Certification and Fingerprint Clearance Card (background check).

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and care for infants, toddlers and/or preschoolers in a classroom setting.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, organized and healthy environment, including regular classroom cleaning.
  • Become familiar with and support state guidelines.
  • Follow established guidelines and daily schedule of activities.
  • Develop and provide or assist in age-appropriate activities and projects.
  • Actively participate in ongoing training activities provided by the Center.
  • Maintain accurate records (diaper, feeding and nap logs, accident/illness reports, etc.).
  • Directly supervise child care and guidance lab student aides if provided.
  • Be a positive role model and work to build positive relationships with children, parents, students and staff.
  • Prepare and distribute snacks or family-provided meals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
