About The Position

The Floating Teaching Assistant/Aide position is a full-time, non-exempt role within the Thrive to Five program, primarily located in Denver with travel across the Northeast part of Lancaster County. The role focuses on promoting cognitive, social, and emotional development in children while ensuring a safe and healthy environment. The assistant will implement educational strategies, follow health and safety procedures, engage with families, and maintain professionalism in all interactions.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • For Assistant position: 2,500 hours of documented experience with children and 30 college credit hours in education or related field, or equivalent experience and education.

Nice To Haves

  • Child Development Associate credential or Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with implementing Creative Curriculum and instructional strategies in accordance with program guidelines.
  • Plan lessons as needed and follow daily routines and lesson plans of each classroom.
  • Prepare classrooms and use responsive language with children.
  • Participate in individualized instruction for children with disabilities and individual needs.
  • Follow all safety and health procedures as outlined by regulatory standards.
  • Provide adequate supervision of children at all times.
  • Follow meal service standards and teach about health and nutrition during meal times.
  • Assist with ensuring all children receive required health screenings.
  • Teach children proper safety skills.
  • Implement PBIS universal practices and model social-emotional skills.
  • Maintain current knowledge about challenging behavior and mental health concerns.
  • Facilitate respectful relationships with families and provide updates on classroom activities.
  • Follow all Community Action Partnership and Thrive to Five policies and procedures.
  • Participate in mandatory trainings and maintain required certifications.
