About The Position

This position is responsible for the provision of special education services to eligible preschool-aged children in their least restrictive environment. This position conducts screenings and formal developmental evaluations for 3- to 5-year-old children to determine eligibility for preschool early intervention services and is responsible for the development and implementation of special education documents.

Requirements

  • Valid PA certification in Special Education PK-8 required
  • Ability to travel throughout the County required
  • Ability to comply with the AIU Conduct policy
  • Current Act 114, Act 34 and Act 151 required prior to an offer (Must be dated within 1 year of hire date).
  • School Personnel Health Record (Form H511.340) must be completed and received by Human Resources prior to hire date.

Responsibilities

  • Implements individual and group specialized instruction services in accordance with student Individualized Education Programs by embedding instruction into the student’s learning environment and collaborating with parents, IEP team members and community stakeholders to promote positive student outcomes.
  • Participates in the identification of eligible young children by administering screenings and assessments, and completing Evaluation Report and IEP Development to ensure compliance with Child Find mandate.
  • Maintains compliance of required special education paperwork by completing reevaluation reports, IEP development and data collection and other supporting documentation to ensure progress on student outcomes and compliance with local, state and federal regulations.
  • Creates and maintains caseload schedule throughout an assigned region to ensure efficient and consistent service delivery per the Individualized Education Program.
  • Remains current with new and effective practices, program procedures, laws and regulations by attending professional development to comply with Preschool Early Intervention program requirements.
  • Represents and promotes the AIU and Preschool Early Intervention by partnering with internal and external stakeholders to establish and maintain relationships that effectively support families and advance student outcomes.
