About The Position

Mt. Juliet Christian Academy is seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Preschool Director to lead our early childhood program. This position plays a vital role in our mission to provide a Christ-centered learning environment for children ages 1–4. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills while ensuring alignment with school policies and the implementation of effective instructional programs. We are looking for a Preschool Director who can guide and support our staff in preparing students for future academic success, while also nurturing their spiritual development. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education.
  • Active member of First Baptist Church Mt. Juliet
  • Previous experience working in Early Childhood Education and childcare leadership.
  • Agreement with the FBCMJ Statement of Faith
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially with young children and their families
  • Must pass criminal background check, fingerprinting, submit a physical exam and clearance from medical provider and certified or willing to obtain First aid/ CPR.

Responsibilities

  • Assist staff in development and implementation of a biblically-based developmentally appropriate curriculum that addresses the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical needs of young children.
  • Cultivate a team-oriented supportive work environment where teachers feel encouraged to have active involvement in the decision-making process.
  • Maintain open communication with administration, staff, parents, and students.
  • Represent the mission of MJCA to our families and the community by fostering positive relationships with children, and parents, building trust and providing individualized support as needed.
  • Oversee both Preschool and Extended Care operations by upholding school rules, regulations and policies to support the mission of the school in partnership with the Lower School Principal.
  • Participate in self-development activities to stay current with best practices and instructional skills through participation in advanced courses, seminars and workshops.
  • Provide Preschool teachers assistance through out the day, which may include filling in for a teaching during break, assistance with special projects, or standing in when a person is needed.
  • Develop Preschool teacher schedules, provide adequate staffing for the children enrolled, work jointly with staff and administration to establish curriculum and develop professional development goals and hold regular staff meetings.
  • Oversee compliance with ACSI as well as state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Work in partnership with the Lower School Principal to develop budgets based on program needs, estimated enrollment, and personnel and fiscal needs.
