About The Position

The Preschool Director position is for assisting the Camp Director in developing and implementing daily preschool program as well as the supervision of the Preschool Counselors. Requirements

The incumbent must be 20 years of age or older.
Possess leadership skills that can assist in encouraging and motivating campers.
Knowledge in safety, care of equipment and supplies, inventory, skill instructions and progressive age appropriate programming is required.
Show enthusiasm, dedication, responsibility and maturity and have the ability to interact and communicate clearly with campers, parents and staff.

Nice To Haves

Ability to teach songs, crafts, games, stories, sports, and related skills is preferred.
Bachelor’s of the Arts of Bachelor’s of Science in Recreation, Physical Education, Education or related field is preferred (or working toward degree).

Responsibilities

Responsible for the general safety and supervision of campers in assigned group as well a 5-6 staff members.
Responsible for the direct supervision and support of the Preschool Counselors which includes ensuring adequate inventory for each program area.
Assist Camp Director in developing and implementing schedule changes, special events, etc.
Supervise and participate in all assigned aspects of the campers’ day which includes but is not limited to: Camper check-in and check-out; attendance; meal times; activities and extended am and extended pm duties as assigned.
Attend and participate in two weeks of Leadership Staff Training and General Staff Training.
Conduct at least one written performance review with staff during the summer.
