About The Position

The position involves enlisting, equipping, and leading volunteer leaders for preschool LifeGroups at Prestonwood Baptist Church (PBC). The role requires preparation for LifeGroups on Sundays, ensuring that volunteer leaders are ready to teach and provide a safe environment for children. The individual will participate in planning LifeGroup meeting times and distribute curriculum to leaders, while also maintaining communication with volunteers and managing nursery inventory.

Requirements

• Growing relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior as an active member of PBC
• Joyful passion for Children’s Ministry
• High School education, some college preferred
• Excellent planning and organizational skills
• Strong communication skills with accuracy, both written and oral
• Experience recruiting volunteers and leading effective teams helpful
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products
• Able to utilize other software products (i.e. Planning Center, Mail Chimp)
• Able to work Sunday – Thursday including Wednesday nights with flexibility to work outside normal work schedule when needed
• Able to perform physical activities that require moving one’s whole body, such as walking, stooping, lifting, pushing/pulling a cart, and use of stairs

Responsibilities

• Enlist, lead, and encourage LifeGroup volunteer leaders to teach/serve in approximately 18 - 36 departments in the nursery and preschool areas on Sundays
• Ensure volunteer screening processes are followed
• Equip volunteer leadership to be ready to teach God’s word and provide a safe and loving environment for children
• Schedule and assist in leading LifeGroup training sessions
• Participate in planning for LifeGroup meeting times and distribute LifeGroup curriculum to leaders
• Complete weekly and monthly ministry priorities, including calls, ministry visits, and school lunches
• Maintain a weekly schedule and record of volunteer leaders
• Maintain nursery inventory and supplies in assigned classrooms
• Contact volunteer leaders and participants regularly
• Call LifeGroup prospects and absentees
• Assist with Children’s Ministry and church events as assigned
• Perform other duties as assigned
