Requirements

• 1+ year of experience in food preparation and cooking.
• Ability to obtain food handling certificate within 90 days of hire.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to meet state/local childcare licensing requirements.

Nice To Haves

• Background in food preparation
• Proven work experience in a kitchen setting
• Hands-on experience with executing a menu and ordering ingredients
• Familiarity with kitchen sanitation and safety regulations
• Excellent organizational skills
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment
• Food Handlers Certificate

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare nutritious meals for children that meet proper nutritional requirements.
• Ensure safety of all children by maintaining and tracking food allergies for each child in our center and communicate identified allergies to teachers daily with every food delivery.
• Adhere to proper food safety, food handling, and sanitation procedures, ensuring that food is stored and managed properly.
• Partner with the Center Leadership team to purchase all food/supplies necessary and keep inventory records as required by local and state agencies.
• Provide excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards parents and children, listen, and communicate effectively.
• Demonstrates flexibility to the daily business need of a childcare center.
