Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
Food Handler Certification (or willingness to obtain).
Ability to lift 25+ lbs and work on your feet in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication skills and a commitment to children’s health and safety.
Must meet all Massachusetts EEC and health department requirements.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience as a cook, kitchen aide, food prep assistant, school cook, or daycare cook preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve nutritious breakfasts, lunches, and snacks according to center menus and dietary guidelines.
Follow proper food safety, sanitation, and storage procedures at all times.
Manage allergy lists and communicate dietary needs clearly with teachers.
Maintain a clean, organized kitchen that meets state and local health regulations.
Track inventory, assist with ordering supplies, and help manage kitchen records.
Support classroom staff during mealtimes if needed and be a positive presence throughout the center.
