Requirements

Previous experience as a cook or in a similar role (childcare or school setting preferred)
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
Ability to create balanced menus that meet nutritional standards
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Food Handler’s Certification or willingness to obtain
Passion for working with children and promoting healthy lifestyles
Flexibility to support kitchen needs as they arise

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook nutritious meals and snacks in accordance with dietary guidelines
Maintain a clean, organized kitchen, following all food safety and sanitation standards
Plan weekly menus that meet the nutritional needs and preferences of children
Collaborate with staff to accommodate allergies and special dietary restrictions
Monitor inventory and order supplies to maintain a well-stocked kitchen
Engage positively with children during mealtimes to encourage healthy eating habits
Assist in training and supervising kitchen support staff as needed
Participate in center events and activities to enhance the culinary experience
