Requirements
- Previous experience in food preparation or cooking, preferably in a childcare setting.
- Knowledge of nutrition and dietary needs for young children.
- Food Handler's certification or willingness to obtain.
- Strong communication skills and a positive attitude.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Flexibility to assist with various school support tasks as needed.
- Passion for working with children and promoting healthy habits.
- Background check clearance required.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve healthy meals and snacks in accordance with dietary guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen and dining area.
- Assist in planning menus that meet the nutritional needs of preschool-aged children.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Support classroom activities and assist teachers as needed.
- Communicate effectively with staff, parents, and children.
- Monitor inventory and assist with ordering kitchen supplies.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities.
