About The Position

The Preschool Classroom Aide will support children with disabilities and behavioral difficulties in a non-profit educational setting. This role involves providing direct special services, assisting educational staff, and fostering positive relationships with children, families, and community volunteers. Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree or higher in early childhood preferred.
• Some experience preferred; 2+ years of direct experience with at-risk population is better.
• Compassionate, patient, and observant personal characteristics are essential.
• Ability to lift 30 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Child Development Associate Certification (CDA) certification.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that children with disabilities and behavioral difficulties receive a mainstreamed experience in the least restrictive environment.
• Under direct supervision, plan for and provide direct special services to the assigned child/children.
• Assist educational staff and the assigned child in all areas of the program.
• Model appropriate behavior and interact in a positive, friendly, and courteous manner with children, staff, families, and community volunteers to build and foster responsive relationships.
• Implement support and supervision according to the child's individualized plan.
• Serve as bus aide as needed.
