About The Position

Multnomah Athletic Club is more than Portland’s most legendary hub of sports and socializing. It’s like a small city unto itself. Where else can you find four restaurants, three pools, a climbing gym, state-of-the-art studios and fitness suite, a complex of racquet sport courts, massage offerings, a boutique, plus a grand ballroom and variety of events spaces all in one place? To say that every employee of MAC has room to move is an understatement almost as big as MAC’s 600,000 square feet of recreational possibilities. Want a career with a future? A campus worth exploring? A one-of-a-kind community on which you can have a direct impact? MAC is all of those things and more. The Multnomah Athletic Club is seeking Playschool Assistant Teachers to join our Youth Programs team. These teachers will work under the supervision of the Youth Programs Manager and will assist the Playschool Lead Teacher by preparing activities and general supervision of the Playschool participants. We are looking for fun and professional part-time and full-time assistant teachers. This is a year-round position and will require teachers to be available Monday - Friday during the hours of 8 a.m. - 1 p.m. It's important to note that many of our assistants move into Lead Teacher roles. The mission of MAC's Youth Program is to provide fun, safe, and enriching experiences for families and children through engaging and active programming. Our program offerings are the foundation and building blocks that grow and form a lifelong love and memories of the MAC. We believe each child is unique and we respect each child’s timetable for developmental growth. We explore the meaning of living together and teach that each person has individual rights that are to be respected. We teach children that the world is good and strive to develop in them an appreciation for its beauty and dependability by providing opportunities to explore, observe, ponder, and question. Our goal is for each child to experience love, trust, and individual success thus strengthening his/her self-esteem. We recognize the importance of adults as examples of behavior for children, as they see teachers displaying such attributes as gratefulness, sharing, patience, love, joy, fairness, and enthusiasm. Love of learning. Foster a positive learning environment.
