At Motorola Solutions, we believe that everything starts with our people. We’re a global close-knit community, united by the relentless pursuit to help keep people safer everywhere. Our critical communications, video security and command center technologies support public safety agencies and enterprises alike, enabling the coordination that’s critical for safer communities, safer schools, safer hospitals and safer businesses. Connect with a career that matters, and help us build a safer future. Motorola Solutions is a world leader in the field of professional mobile communications systems with an impressive heritage of technological innovations and a global base of installed systems. The group's main business is the design and implementation of mission critical digital mobile communication systems for Government & Public Safety Communications customers. The Presales Systems Engineering Team, primarily supports State and Local Government Public Safety infrastructure and subscriber design and implementation for projects in the Southeast Region. The Presales System Engineer (Internship) will get the opportunity to work closely with our Communication Systems Engineers, who design radio communication solutions, from the conceptual phases through to implementation that meet customer's requirements. They consult with the customer to determine their requirements to design the best solution to meet their needs. In cooperation with the sales, product development, and project management, they develop technical strategies and generate proposals to customers presenting Motorola's solution. They provide coordination with the design and planning of the customer solutions using advanced technologies and provide technical support throughout the pre-sales phase of the project. This involves coverage and antenna site selection, frequency planning, interference analysis, design of system architecture, equipment selection, proposal generation, and presentations of proposed solutions to customer. System Engineers are then engaged in the implementation of these solutions as originally conceived. They take responsibility for all technical aspects of the assigned project from award until system acceptance. This involves implementation planning, system acceptance testing, coverage testing, and system staging. Our engineers also work to ensure that the our sales professionals and customers are kept up to date on the latest technology offerings from Motorola Solutions and their relevance to customer needs. Our Senior Engineers support their colleagues to enhance both individual and group competencies, including mentoring junior system engineers. We expect our engineers to operate as professionals and take responsibility for their development including professional and technical skills needed for their success as an engineer.
