About The Position

The Principal Architect is responsible for designing and implementing comprehensive infrastructure solutions for HBS's diverse customer base. This role involves leading the adoption of emerging technologies and solutions while guiding clients through the adoption process. The Principal Architect will support presales efforts by collaborating with sales teams and the primary engineer to develop solution designs and proposals that meet customer needs. Additionally, they will play a critical role in building and maintaining standardized company-wide architectures to drive consistency and efficiency across the customer base. This position requires close collaboration with local engineering teams to architect large-scale projects and work with the primary engineer to deliver a successful outcome.

Requirements

• 5+ years in a technical related field.
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
• Possess at least one expert-level certification, or the ability to obtain it within 12 months.
• Experience designing, architecting and implementing complicated technology solutions.
• Experience developing and implementing best practice guidelines and solutions across multiple technologies.

Nice To Haves

• 8+ years in a technical related field.
• 6+ years’ experience working as a consultant.
• 4+ years of developing customer solutions aligned to business goals and outcomes.
• Expert-level certifications or equivalent advanced expertise in relevant technologies.
• Comprehensive experience across various domains, with a focus on designing, architecting, and implementing solutions in areas such as networking, systems, software, and cloud practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead presales efforts for Large Value Transactions (LVT’s) by collaborating with sales teams and the primary engineer to create tailored solution designs and proposals.
• Educate sales teams on products and services to support effective solution selling.
• Foster collaboration across different business units to deliver a world-class customer experience.
• Act as an escalation point for primary engineer aligned to account.
• Ensure solution aligns with overall architecture and the primary engineer’s strategy in the account.
• Own and execute the live hand-off of LVT projects to the assigned primary engineer.
• Execute LVT projects in partnership with Project Managers and the primary engineer, ensuring timely and budget-conscious delivery.
• Provide leadership by articulating project needs to the Project Management Team and guiding Engineers to ensure accurate and timely completion of tasks.
• Contribute to the development of company-wide architectures, including product research, configuration standards, and best practices.
• Demonstrate strong communication skills and take a leadership role in team and customer meetings.
• Maintain current industry and vendor-specific certifications, staying informed on emerging technologies and solutions.
• Mentor and develop engineers through our accelerated mentorship program.
