The Prepress Manager is responsible to oversee the prepress department, ensuring all client graphics are properly prepared for production by supervising staff and managing workflows.

Requirements

  • 7 years’ experience with basic printing, pre-press software and color management.
  • Working knowledge of Kodak Prinergy workflows
  • Leadership skills to inspire respect and trust; motivate others to perform well; effectively influences others toward accomplishment of objectives/goals; establishes productive relationships.
  • Excellent verbal, written and listening skills; ability to read, create and explain SOP's; clearly communicate detailed instructions; effectively respond to or present information to customers, vendors and KP employees.
  • Manages, plans and prioritizes department and multiple tasks simultaneously, organizes and schedules workflow, materials and time effectively.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills: ability to analyze situations to anticipate/identify potential problems; collect relevant information, evaluate options and recommend measures to improve efficiently, processes and worker performance.
  • Understands requirements of safety and security requirements and maintains the team and the requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees, trains and supervises the Prepress department.
  • Directly supervises employees and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
  • Oversees the daily production workflow, schedule jobs and ensure efficient operation to meet deadlines and budgets.
  • Ensures all digital files are print-ready and meet technical specifications, correcting issues and conducting quality checks before printing.
  • Acts as liaison between clients, design team and production team, translating creative concepts into technical solutions.
  • Maintains a strong knowledge of design software and printing technologies to resolve discrepancies and solve production challenges.
  • Develops Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) for job related functions, processes, and recommends method efficiencies and process improvements.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.
