River Valley Co-op is seeking a Prepared Foods Team Member II who will play a vital role in our mission to create a just marketplace that nourishes the community. This position requires open availability, including evenings and weekends, and reports directly to the Prepared Foods Assistant Manager. The primary purpose of this role is to maintain drip coffee, prepare smoothies, fresh juice, and espresso to order, slice meat and cheese to order, and make hot and cold sandwiches to order, all while providing prompt, friendly, and helpful customer service. The ideal candidate will help meet department goals for sales, margin, labor, and customer service, contributing to our cooperative values and commitment to social justice. As a Prepared Foods Team Member II, you will be responsible for maintaining par levels for all items used throughout your shift, ensuring that all service ware for in-house and to-go beverages is well-stocked. You will communicate product needs and ideas to the Prepared Foods Assistant Manager and Prepared Foods Manager, and follow all opening and closing procedures as directed. It is essential to maintain correct signage for all products in the case, including ingredients, dates, and prices. You will slice specialty meats and cheeses to order, prepare drink offerings, and provide outstanding customer service with pride and genuine care for our customers and products. In addition to food preparation, you will be expected to maintain and use all equipment according to guidelines, clean up spills, sweep and mop, polish work areas, sort and take out the trash, and recycle daily. Following all food safety and storage procedures is crucial, as is advising the Prepared Foods Assistant Manager and Prepared Foods Manager of any equipment repairs or upgrades. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records of the cost of preparing daily specials and researching and developing new recipes for the made-to-order bar. Participation in team and storewide meetings is required, along with performing other tasks assigned by the Prepared Foods Assistant Manager.
