About The Position
The Deli / Prepared Foods Clerk is an essential part of our deli team! They provide customers with quality deli products, hot foods, and fresh salads in a friendly and courteous manner, ensuring repeat visits to our stores. In this role, you will help to create and maintain recipes, processes, and procedures for all prepared foods areas, including breakfast, lunch, rotisserie chickens, pizza, and soup. You will assist customers as needed with orders in cold cuts, salads, and prepared foods, and prepare daily meals in the hot foods area, as well as family meals and bowls. You will work closely with the Deli Manager and Assistant Manager to ensure resources for producing grab-and-go meals, family packs, bowls, paninis, and hot food meals are ordered appropriately. Additionally, you will maintain a thorough knowledge of all the products and services of the deli department, help the team stock and refill products in all areas of the department, and assist with deli tasks as needed. You will manage food preparation in collaboration with the deli management team, which includes making breakfast, lunch, sandwiches, subs, salads, deli trays, pizza, rotisserie chickens, heat-and-eat, and ready-to-eat items. Ensuring that State and County safety and sanitation standards are met with all equipment, surfaces, and floors within the department is also a critical part of your responsibilities. You will be expected to suggest potential new ideas to the deli manager based on your thorough knowledge of all products and services offered in the deli.
