About The Position

As a Prepared Foods and Café Department Lead, you will drive sales in your area and supervise your team of hourly associates who create and serve meals to members. You will model expertise in Prepared Foods and Café and work collaboratively with other team leaders to ensure the total club meets the member’s expectations. The role involves maintaining in-depth knowledge of business operations, ensuring quality, inventory, production, sanitation, equipment usage, safety, and compliance. It also includes managing seasonality, understanding new products, recipes, processes, and production specifications, and prioritizing time between areas. The lead will leverage digital tools to plan for and drive sales, improve the shopping experience, and elevate associate engagement, utilizing hand-held technology for business decisions related to production, training, and product quality. The position requires driving business results, ensuring operational excellence, planning for profitability, maintaining a clean and safe work area, ensuring appropriate staffing levels, and accurate audit and compliance standards. It also involves producing and displaying merchandise according to the merchandise layout plan and engaging with other departments and third-party business partners. Furthermore, the role includes teaching and training the team, identifying training needs, providing and developing necessary skills, encouraging career growth, and sourcing new talent. The lead will develop, communicate, and implement processes and practices to meet business needs, monitor progress, and identify improvement opportunities. They will also demonstrate, promote, and support compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity, and lead and participate in teams by using and sharing resources, information, and tools, and modeling adaptability to change. The role also emphasizes respecting individuals, acting with integrity, serving customers and members, and striving for excellence.

Requirements

  • 6 months experience in a fresh production department or 6 months experience supervising a team.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Successfully complete all job required trainings and assessments within a prescribed time period if you receive the position.

Responsibilities

  • Drive sales in your area and supervise your team of hourly associates who create and serve meals to members.
  • Model expertise in Prepared Foods and Café.
  • Work collaboratively with other team leaders to ensure the total club meets the member’s expectations.
  • Supervise the team within all prepared foods departments (e.g., café, rotisserie, prepared foods) by facilitating rotations through different fresh areas and managing members' needs.
  • Deliver on the business plan and contribute to the overall success of your club.
  • Communicate the goals of the department.
  • Execute company programs.
  • Adhere to policies and be an advocate for the member, the associate, and the company.
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of business on the floor and backroom operations.
  • Ensure the prepared foods area meets company and regulatory standards for quality, inventory, production, sanitation, equipment usage, safety, and compliance.
  • Manage seasonality in terms of production, understanding new products, recipes, processes, and production specifications.
  • Prioritize time between areas.
  • Collaborate with associates and third parties, ensuring the team has resources to do their job effectively, sharing knowledge, and training the team.
