About The Position

Love working with food and being part of a fast-moving kitchen team? As a Prep & Line Cook, you’ll help bring our menu to life by preparing ingredients, cooking dishes to order, and keeping the kitchen running smoothly. You’ll follow recipes and standards while helping maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workspace. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys teamwork, takes pride in their work, and thrives in a busy kitchen environment.

Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for 8–10 hours, including frequent stair use during shifts
  • Ability to reach, bend, kneel, crouch, and lift as needed during kitchen work
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds regularly and occasionally up to 50 pounds
  • Comfortable working in typical kitchen conditions including heat, cold, water, cleaning materials, and varying noise levels
  • Basic English communication, writing skills, and simple math
  • No experience required to apply — however, 2+ years of kitchen experience is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Prepare ingredients by following recipes and techniques such as slicing, chopping, mincing, mixing, stirring, and seasoning.
  • Cook menu items using methods like grilling, sautéing, roasting, frying, and broiling, ensuring proper taste and doneness.
  • Assemble dishes and plate meals using appropriate diningware for both hot and cold items.
  • Label, organize, and store ingredients so everything is neat, accessible, and food-safe.
  • Follow recipes and portion standards to help control food costs and reduce waste.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen by following all state and local health, sanitation, storage, and refrigeration standards.
  • Use slower periods to prep ingredients, restock stations, and clean equipment.
  • Monitor kitchen supplies and notify the Executive Chef when items need restocking.
  • Work closely with coworkers to keep the kitchen running efficiently and smoothly.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance, cleanliness, and proper uniform while working.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned by the Executive Chef or Sous Chef.
