About The Position

The PREP Lead Instructor for Summer 2025 at the University of Texas at San Antonio is responsible for supervising summer instructors, program assistant mentors, and students. The Lead Instructor will also teach integrated STEM courses as needed and coordinate various program activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree
• Supervisory experience leading teachers and/or staff
• Experience in teaching K-12 students
• Experience implementing and delivering instructional materials and evaluation tools
• Experience teaching STEM related courses

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of Blackboard or a similar LMS
• Proficiency in inquiry-based learning pedagogy
• Prior PREP experience

Responsibilities

• Supervise summer instructors and program assistant mentors.
• Attend necessary professional development and oversee staff training.
• Coordinate Parent Orientation Meeting and program assemblies.
• Teach integrated STEM courses when needed due to teacher absence.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations for the PREP program.
• Oversee student discipline and maintain a safe learning environment.
• Facilitate Program Assistant Mentor sessions on Fridays.
• Organize student lunches and food distribution.
• Compile gradebooks, attendance, and final grades from instructors.
• Lead weekly staff meetings and provide program updates.
