The Mount Vernon Inn Restaurant is seeking professional, highly motivated prep cook to work in the high volume restaurant. Position requires flexibility with scheduling.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in all aspects of food preparation as needed
  • Follows both written and verbal preparation lists
  • Perform other kitchen duties as assigned
  • Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and taking out trash
  • Proper food storage and stocking, rotation using FIFO system - FIRST IN/FIRST OUT
  • Recipe adherence: Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes, using various kitchen utensils and equipment
  • Team oriented person who will jump in and assist co-workers during busy periods

Requirements

  • Ability to read and write
  • Knowledge of kitchen equipment and utensils
  • Ability to work weekends, all holidays, mornings, and nights
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
  • Prior experience is preferred
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a high volume environment
