The Mount Vernon Inn Restaurant is seeking professional, highly motivated prep cook to work in the high volume restaurant. Position requires flexibility with scheduling.
Responsibilities
- Assists in all aspects of food preparation as needed
- Follows both written and verbal preparation lists
- Perform other kitchen duties as assigned
- Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and taking out trash
- Proper food storage and stocking, rotation using FIFO system - FIRST IN/FIRST OUT
- Recipe adherence: Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes, using various kitchen utensils and equipment
- Team oriented person who will jump in and assist co-workers during busy periods
Requirements
- Ability to read and write
- Knowledge of kitchen equipment and utensils
- Ability to work weekends, all holidays, mornings, and nights
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
- Prior experience is preferred
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure in a high volume environment
