About The Position
Restaurant Associates is seeking a full-time Prep Cook in New York, NY. This role involves preparing food and serving customers in compliance with federal, state, and local standards. Requirements
- Prior food service experience is required
- Abide by all Company policies and procedures
- Use a medium weight cut gloves when handling or using knives, peelers, choppers, mandolins or cleaning a slicer
- Use oven mitts, fryer gloves or steamer gloves when handling hot pans from ovens, warmers or steamtables
- Use slip-resistant shoes and proper lifting techniques
Responsibilities
- Obtain daily production schedule and preparation requirements from the Chef
- Prepare items on production sheets following established quantities and recipes
- Complete and follow daily production worksheets and waste log sheets
- Taste completed meals to ensure quality
- Operate and clean equipment per department procedures after each use
- Store, label and date all food items according to policy
- Follow HACCP guidelines
- Complete all required documentation, reports, logs as required
- Comply with federal, state and local health and sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures
- Take orders from customer and prepare items requiring short preparation time
- Serve customers in an efficient and friendly manner
- Complete orders from steam tables and grill and serve customers at multiple stations
- Use approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures and standard portion control
- Follow HACCP guidelines to ensure quality and safety of food supply
- Resolve customer concerns
- Perform other duties as assigned
